Job Description

Key performance areas:
Responsible for strategic leadership; strategic resource alignment; policy development and compliance; operational management: Town Planning Services; technical support and stakeholder engagement; reporting, budget preparation and control and administration; Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM); Smart City initiatives; Strategic Urban Planning; Stakeholder engagement; Enhance staff capacity and competences and Administration of the powers of the authorised planning authority and accountability.

B. Degree in Town and Regional Planning as promulgated by NCTRP in terms of Act 9 of 1996 or Spatial Planning Honours Degree in Town and Regional Planning at NQF Level 8. Candidates in possession of an appropriate master’s degree will receive preference.
·         Seven (7) year Spatial planning experience of which five (5) years must be in a managerial leadership capacity. Added advantage: Specialization in urban planning and development application evaluations and submissions to the Urban and Regional Planning Board (URPB) and have secured approval of at least seven (7) new township establishments in the last seven (7) years. Cross-departmental leadership, project coordination and strategic planning within a local authority environment. ·         Valid Code B drivers’ licence ·         Registered as a Town and Regional Planner with the Namibian Council for Town and Regional Planners.
